AANP certification exam prep for nurse practitioners
Study assessment, diagnosis, plan, and follow-up—not a public board simulation on this page.
The AANP Family Nurse Practitioner exam tests whether you can manage outpatient problems across the lifespan. It is a certification exam administered by AANP. Certifia is not affiliated with AANP. We provide independent practice questions and a signed-in readiness-style set for subscribers. This hub explains how to study. It does not launch a guest exam or display the production bank.
What the exam evaluates
Expect assessment clues, likely diagnoses, first-line plans, patient education, and when to refer. Items stay in family practice: hypertension, diabetes, infections, women’s health, pediatrics in clinic, and mental health that presents in primary care. You are scored on safe, guideline-aware choices, not on hospital ICU algorithms.
How to prepare
Build a domain calendar: cardiometabolic, infectious disease, women’s and men’s health, pediatrics, and psych. For each, know first-line drug, a red-flag referral, and one counseling point. Do mixed sets so you do not only practice the system you like. A longer mock is useful when your accuracy on mixed sets is already stable.
Important study areas
Hypertension and lipid decisions, diabetes follow-up, respiratory infections versus when imaging or referral is needed, contraception and prenatal red flags in clinic, well-child vs sick-child, and depression or anxiety treatment that stays in outpatient scope.
How Certifia supports AANP prep
Create an account to access NP practice. Pro unlocks the AANP-labeled bank and a 50-question readiness exam inside the app. Public pages never call that inventory. A free public diagnostic is not available yet.
